Here&#8217;s the one I prefer.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Basic Hummus<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_844\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-844\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivaciouschef.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/FullSizeRender.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-844\" title=\"FullSizeRender\" src=\"https:\/\/vivaciouschef.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/FullSizeRender-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vivaciouschef.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/FullSizeRender-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vivaciouschef.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/FullSizeRender-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/vivaciouschef.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/FullSizeRender-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-844\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roasted Red Pepper Hummus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>2 cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed<br \/>\n1\/2 c. tahini paste (mix well before measuring)<br \/>\n1\/4 c. extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic<br \/>\n1 lemon, juiced<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. ground black pepper<br \/>\nwater (if necessary)<\/p>\n<p>Add all of the ingredients (except the water) to a blender or food processor. Process until smooth &#8211; a couple of minutes, depending on the machine. Taste the mixture for flavor and consistency. You are looking for a velvety smooth texture, so if it seems grainy, continue to process longer. If you like a fluffy texture, add some water to thin it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Roasted Red Pepper Hummus<\/span><br \/>\n1\/2 c. roasted red peppers<br \/>\n1 tsp. paprika<\/p>\n<p>Add these at the beginning with the rest of the ingredients. You won&#8217;t need water for this version.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Spicy 5-Pepper Hummus<br \/>\n<\/span>1 tsp. Aleppo pepper<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp Cayenne pepper (or more depending on taste)<br \/>\n1 tsp. Ground black pepper<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp Ground white pepper<br \/>\n1 tsp Ancho\u00a0pepper<\/p>\n<p>Substitute the larger amount of black pepper here for what&#8217;s called for above. Add all of the pepper at the beginning with the other ingredients.
